RICHARDSON, Texas – May 15, 2009 – Crane Wireless Monitoring Solutions (WMS), a Crane Co. business that is a leading provider of wireless sensor networks for industrial, commercial and government applications, today announced the relocation of its corporate headquarters to Richardson, Texas. The new facility, located at 3301 Essex Dr. in the Renner Business Park, will accommodate the company’s current staff and enable further expansion for the company’s future growth. Even with added space for the company’s manufacturing processes and customer demonstrations, the new facility will provide cost savings for the company. Crane WMS expects to relocate in mid-May.
“As our products continue to be adopted into new markets and our company continues to grow, we needed to find the right facility in the right location for our evolving business. It made great sense for our company to select Richardson for the location of our new office,” said Charlie Stuewe, vice president and general manager for Crane WMS. “Many of our key executives got their start with Richardson-based companies, and we partner frequently with technology innovators at The University of Texas at Dallas and other world-class organizations in Richardson. The Renner Business Park’s central location was also a key factor, due to the convenience it offers our valued employees.”
Crane WMS provides network-centric wireless products along with wireless communications R&D services. The Crane WMS products include the MicroObserver® Unattended Ground Sensor solution for border, perimeter and critical infrastructure security and the mesh-based VantedgePoint® Wireless Sensor Network solution for remote monitoring across a number of markets.
“We are excited about Crane Wireless Monitoring Solutions’ decision to relocate to Richardson,” said John Jacobs, senior vice president of the Richardson Economic Development Partnership. “With this move, the company will be positioned to take advantage of the many synergies available from doing business in Richardson, working alongside innovators from other wireless technology businesses, defense contractors and educational institutions in our city.”
Art Leichner, senior vice president at Jackson & Cooksey, Inc., represented Crane WMS, and Brett McMillan of the Vantage Companies represented the landlord. Prior to this move, Crane WMS leased office space at 1820 Preston Park Blvd. in Plano, Texas.
